Verla Marie Hafen

Services for Verla Marie Hafen, 85, of Academy, are pending with Young’s Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center In Temple, Texas. 

Verla Marie Hafen died on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at her home residence. 

Verla Marie Hafen was born on July 24, 1936 to Elmyra Georgia Housman and Virgil Hurshal Armstrong in Buhal, Idaho. She graduated from high school and furthered her education in 1954 on the “Queen Mary” ship.She worked as a bookkeeper till she became a proud mother. She retired after 18 years from Harry and Davids. She married Alden Hafen and together lived life side by side. She was a member of the First Chrisitian  Disciples of Christ. 

In Lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to Shriners Children's Hospital under Anonymous in Northern, Texas. 

Ms. Hafen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alden Hafen and one son, Randy Keith Hafen.

Survivors include her four children; David Alan Hafen, Jon Craig Hafen, Annette Sue Risley, Jayne Marie Atkins, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Young’s Daughters Funeral Home.
