Harker Heights

Stella Jean (Demone) Zale,73,  passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at a nursing home in Harker Heights, Texas. She was born on January 16, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio. Stella lived a fulfilling personal life.

Throughout her life, Stella embraced the role of a homemaker with unwavering dedication. She selflessly cared for her family and carried out all the duties that encompassed being a mother and homemaker. Her resilient spirit and nurturing nature were evident in everything she did.

Stella's thirst for self-discovery set her apart from others. She had an insatiable curiosity that fueled her desire to explore new horizons and grow as an individual. Despite the differences she encountered along the way, Stella's family loved and supported her unconditionally. She was a woman who tended to her own needs while still showering those around her with love and kindness.

Education played an important role in Stella's life, as she attended White Sands Missile Range High School in New Mexico. This provided a solid foundation for the path she would walk and shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Stella would always remember her strict yet loving personality. She possessed an introverted nature which allowed her to reflect deeply on life's lessons. Despite this introspection, those close to Stella experienced her vibrant and bubbly disposition. Her infectious energy brought joy to any room she entered.

One of Stella's greatest passions was animals, particularly dogs. She had a natural affinity for them and excelled at training them. The bond she shared with these furry companions was truly special.

Sadly, Stella battled lung cancer which eventually metastasized to her brain. Even in the face of this devastating illness, she remained courageous and strong-willed until the end. Her resilience in the face of adversity serves as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Stella Jean Zale was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Arnold James Demone and Donna Marie (Bousonville) Demone. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in her loving son, Keith Childress, and his wife Shannon; her cherished daughter, Keri Crowl, and her husband John; her dear sister, Sarah Clark; as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

As we mourn the loss of Stella, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led. She touched the hearts of those around her with her strength, compassion, and unwavering love. Stella's memory will forever remain etched in our hearts as we carry on her spirit of resilience and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to a local animal shelter in Stella's honor. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she has left a legacy of love and compassion for generations to come.
