Services for Ruben Deleon Hernandez, Jr., 66, of Temple will be held on Friday December 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Young’s Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center. Burial will follow in procession to Greathouse Cemetery.
Ruben Hernandez, Jr., died on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
Ruben was born on December 26, 1955 to Ruben Fransisco Hernandez, Sr. and Juanita Deleon Hernandez in Mathis, Texas. He was the eldest of his siblings but also looked the youngest of them all. He was a Penecostal by faith and loved to be around his family. Family was everything to him. He did floor installation for many years and came highly recommended by many people. Nobody did flooring better than him. Ruben was well known for his work and reputation. He was the only person that would guarantee his work for 10 years. Ruben was also known to have a very authoritative voice. He was a die hard Redskins fan and was an amazing story teller. Ruben enjoyed nature, he would pay attention to the leaves, the sky, the grass and trees. He truly enjoyed appreciating the things nature had to offer. He liked to fish, barbecue, hunt, have a good time and watch national geographic. Ruben also enjoyed spending time, playing, and watching movies with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Ruben Hernandez, Sr.
Ruben is survived by his mother, Juanita Hernandez; the mother of his children, Stacey Hernandez-Duarte; six sons, Ruben Hernandez III, Timothy Hernandez and wife Louisa, Maurice Hernandez and wife Erica, Eric Hernandez and wife Hannah, Justin Hernandez and wife Abbygail, & Gregorio Hernandez all of Temple; four brothers, Robert Hernandez, Armando Hernandez and wife Tyra, Servando Hernandez, & Gregorio Hernandez and wife MaryAnn all of Temple; two sisters, Celia Rodriguez and husband Gilbert & Consuelo Hernandez; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held on Thursday December 8, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m with Testimony Hour at 7:00 pm in the Young’s Daughters Kaverly Chapel
