Rocco Sanders, pet of 13 years old, a beloved companion and loyal friend, passed peacefully in his home in Belton, Texas on Saturday, December 24, 2023. Born on April 1, 2010, in Temple, Texas, Rocco brought immense joy and love to the lives of his parents Lacey and Ben Sanders.
Though Rocco did not receive any formal education, his intelligence and ability to learn were evident. With patient guidance from his family, Rocco was taught to smile in a way that showcased his happiness and brought delight to all who knew him.
In his younger years, Rocco enjoyed playful adventures and often visited Lions Park with boundless enthusiasm. His brindle coat stood out against the black or grey leashes he wore during their outings. Mischievous by nature, he would occasionally take toys from his dog buddy Radar, engaging in playful mischief that filled the air with laughter.
Rocco's life was marked by cherished memories at the lake. Spending time near the water brought him immeasurable joy throughout the years. He would enthusiastically play and swim in its depths during the early days of his life. As time went on, Rocco would simply walk up to the water's edge and put his paws in as if reminiscing about the moments spent frolicking there.
One distinguishing trait of Rocco was his love for winter. Even amidst frigid days, he would eagerly revel in the outdoors without a care for the biting cold. His resilient spirit shone through as he embraced this season with unmatched zeal.
Rocco had a fondness for seekable foods, relishing every opportunity to indulge in culinary delights. His parents knew that calling him inside required enticement in the form of "Snicky Snacks." Among all treats, honey crisp apples held a special place in his heart. Although the house rule prohibited dogs from the couch, Rocco couldn't resist sneaking onto it for a cozy nap whenever his humans were away. It became a playful game for him, and upon their return, he would be caught red-handed, adding a touch of mischievous charm to his already charismatic personality.
Rocco's passing leaves a void that can never be filled. He is survived by his loving parents Lacey and Ben Sanders, along with his siblings Sean and Kiley Sanders. In addition to his immediate family, Rocco leaves behind two feline friends, Kiley Cat and Ginger, as well as two cherished dog companions, Radar and Chili. The bond they shared was something truly special.
As we bid farewell to Rocco Sanders, it is important to remember the joy he brought into our lives. His playful nature and infectious smile will forever remain in our hearts. May he find eternal peace, basking in the warm memories that he created with all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, dear friend.
