Maricela "Mercy" Grimaldo

Services for Maricela “Mercy” Grimaldo, 47, of Temple, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Higher Power Ministries with Pastor Isaac & Flor Uvalle officiating. Burial will follow at Great House Cemetery 2343 East FM 93 near State hwy 95. A repass will be held at the church for family and friends to fellowship. 

Mrs. Maricela Grimaldo died on Friday, March 31, 2023 at a local hospital. 

Maricela “Mercy” (Uvalle) Grimaldo was born on July 26, 1975 to Mr. Santos Uvalle III and Maria (Cavazos) Uvalle in Lamesa, Texas. Her family moved to Odessa where she spent her childhood. She moved to Temple in 1995 and completed her G.E.D. She married the love of her life, Ramiro Grimaldo and together they raised their family. She was a proud mother to her children. Enjoying supporting her children at their soccer games. Hobbies included; collecting animal figurines, wearing her collection of rings, spending time out with the family and dancing. Famous for her potato salad and rice.  “Mercy” has such a servant heart, always helping everyone. When it came to helping others she had a hard time saying “NO!” Mercy loved her two grandchildren with all her heart. 

Preceded in death by her parents. 

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Ramiro Grimaldo; four sons, Giovanni Grimaldo, Asael Grimaldo, JeLane Grimaldo, Ramiro Grimaldo Jr.; one daughter, Ritzy Grimaldo; four brothers, Santos Uvalle IV, Isaac Lee Uvalle, Israel Lee Uvalle, Nathaniel Villarreal; one sister, Michelle Uvalle; two grandchildren, Ever-Leigh Grimaldo, Vidal Antonio Grimaldo. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Higher Power Ministries located at 1709 Martin Luther King Junior Drive Temple, TX 76504

Arrangements are under the direction of Sabrina N. Young, of Young’s Daughters Funeral Home and Bereavement Center.
