Ernesto "Ernie" Castillo, III.

Ernesto Castillo III, 61, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Young’s Daughters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery.

Ernesto Castillo III died on Monday, November 1, 2021 at a local hospital.

Ernesto “Ernie” Castillo III., was born on February 17, 1960 to Ernesto Castillo Jr., and Angelita Chapa in Temple, Texas. He was seen on the football field throughout high school and graduated from Temple High School. He furthered his education at Temple Junior College as a graphic engineer. Ernie was known for his strong work ethic and always staying busy. He retired in 2015. His hobbies included playing pool, fishing and being a ladies man. He was a devout Christian and attended church where his family gathered, Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic, St. Lukes Catholic and Temple Bible Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Castillo Jr., and Angelita C. Hernandez.

Survivors include one brother, Robert Ray Castillo of Temple, Texas; two sisters, Janie Dukes and husband Kenneth of Temple, Texas and Melissa Yoder and husband Tom; two nephews, David Perez, Ricky McDowell and wife Veronica of Temple; one niece, Dana Burgess and husband Jack; one nephew, Hunter R. McDowell of Temple; one great nephew, Nicolas B. Burgess and one great niece, Hailey M. Burgess of TN. Along with many Aunts and Uncles and Cousins.
