Edna Mae Griffith, 57, affectionately known as Ogre and Memaw, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Belton, Texas. Born on February 23, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, Edna was a beloved figure whose legacy will continue through her family and the many memories she created throughout her life.

A dedicated housewife, Edna spent her days nurturing her home and raising her children and grandchildren with love and care. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her son to be a strong family man, ensuring the continuation of family traditions that she held dear. Edna was known for her kind-hearted nature, with a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. She enjoyed laughter and often shared moments of fun that included family games, such as the game called "forehead," which has become a cherished family tradition.

Edna had a multitude of interests; she loved the color purple, cherished reading, and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and camping. Furthermore, she was recognized for her skills at pool, often engaging friends and family in friendly competition. Chinese food was her favorite cuisine, a delight she savored often.

Her memory will be honored by her surviving family members: three sons, Ernest Griffith and his wife April, Thomas Lewis, and Steven Lewis; one daughter, Amber Morris and her husband J.D. Morris; one daughter, Corrie Jeffers; one brother, Clifford Griffith and his wife Linda Mello; four sisters, Theresa McNeil, Cathy Collins, Marlene Snow, and Karen Rodriguez; along with twelve grandchildren, Chance Griffith, Christian Griffith, Melanie Morris, Aubree Miller, Sierra Miller, Michael Lewis, Siah Lewis, Emmerson Lewis, Gracelyn Lewis, Dallas Lewis, Ryan Morris, Sean Morris, and Trinity Lewis; and her loving pet Snow.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee Griffith and Nancy Carroll (Snow) Griffith, whose memories she treasured deeply.

A funeral service will be held at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center, located at 4235 E. US Hwy 190, Temple, TX 76501, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM. 

Edna Mae Griffith leaves behind a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and cherished memories, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
