Diane Lynn Rowland, 70, of Belton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on October 8, 1954, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Diane led a life full of adventure, love, and dedication to her family and career.
Diane's professional journey began in the grocery industry, where she excelled as a sales representative, touring across Texas for a grocery company based in San Antonio. Her career took a significant turn when she moved to Kerrville, Texas, in 1994. It was there that she met Michael Rowland, the love of her life, who was a manager at Circle K. Their shared passion for their work led them to collaborate for over a decade before marrying in 2004 and relocating to Temple, Texas. Together, they made a significant impact in the convenience industry, where Diane not only served as a training officer but also took great pride in designing and enforcing training programs. Together, they owned and operated their own convenience store known as Liberty Mart, which was a testament to their hard work and combined efforts.
Diane’s heart was truly devoted to her family. Known affectionately as "Nana," her greatest joy came from tending to her grandchildren and instilling family values in them. She loved creating treasure hunts for the children, making cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Her personality shone through as an extremely loving and bubbly individual, with a heart that was as big as her commitment to those within her circle. Diane was adventurous, always ready to embrace new experiences with her family and ensuring that her loved ones felt happiness and warmth.
Growing up in a working-class home, Diane cultivated her writing skills and imagination early on. She had a remarkable talent for storytelling, captivating those around her with her creativity. Her hobbies reflected her spirit, as she enjoyed swimming, spending quality time with family, and indulging in her fondness for moose memorabilia, M&M candy items, and her favorite foods, particularly steak and potatoes. Despite her city origins, Diane embraced a more rural lifestyle, adapting lovingly to her environment.
Diane is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Lee Rowland; two daughters, Shannon Nalbone and Shasta Rowland; three sons, Shawn Rowland, Shane Rowland and his wife Paula, and Colt Stigent and his wife Marie; two sisters, Sandy Hull and Linda Desantis with her husband Jimmy; along with several nieces and nephews as well as seventeen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren who adored her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Wesley Moore and Mary Estelle (Glenn) Moore; and one sister, Judy Moore. Diane's legacy is one of love, creativity, and a steadfast commitment to family. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center in Temple, Texas, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
In memory, Diane leaves us with a heartfelt message: "Be the best you can and be yourself." Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
