Devin Dickson, 33, affectionately known as Dai-Dai, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Temple, Texas. He was born on August 19, 1990, in Clovis, NM. Devin had a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many who knew him.
In his early years, Devin attended Temple High School where he not only focused on his education also shined on the football field. He was a dedicated individual who worked at various fast-food chains to support his family until circumstances prevented him from continuing. Despite the challenges he faced, he always remained resilient and cherished spending time with his friends.
Those close to Devin will remember him for his kind heart and infectious laughter. He had a knack for storytelling and could effortlessly captivate those around him with tales of his adventures. Devin had a unique ability to bring joy to others and often found solace in mentally escaping through his hobbies of collecting guns and listening to music.
One of Devin's proudest accomplishments was his unwavering dedication to his family. He deeply loved his mother, Ms. Betty Dickson, his sister Shi-Tay Dickson, as well as his two sons D'Marion Dickson and Heath Dickson, and his daughter Jenessa Dickson. His family meant everything to him, and he strived to create a loving and supportive environment for them.
Tragically, Devin was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer on December 25, 2023, which eventually led to his passing. However, during his final moments, he was surrounded by those he held dear – finding comfort in their presence.
Today we remember Devin Dickson not with sorrow but with fondness for the light he brought into the lives of others. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he was cherished and will be deeply missed by many.
A special thank you to Shi - Tay for opening her home to care for the family and to the friends for their support over the duration of his sickness.
