Brenda Gail Wheat

Services for Brenda Gail Wheat (Hendrix), 70, of temple are to be held at 11:00a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at Young's Daughters Funeral Home in the chapel.

Brenda died on Monday, June 26, 2023 at a local hospital.

Brenda Wheat was born on September 11, 1952 to Fred Hendrix and Reva Latta. She attended Tech Highschool in Fort Worth, Texas. She had met Larry Hickman in high school, with whom she would marry and start a family with. Later in life she would remarry with Jack Wheat and settle in Temple, Texas. She had ran a daycare then soon after worked for McClane and tended bars until the early 80's when she began working at First Step Learning Center, followed by a career with Centex. Her hobbies included BBQ Teams, bowling leagues. Her greatest passion was caring for others.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years Jack Wheat; two sons, Richard "Chopper" Hickman and wife Kimberly, Matthew Wheat and wife Amber; two daughters, Patti Hastie and husband Barney, Heather Betancur and husband Hector; one brother, Billy Bob Hendrix and wife Nona; three sisters, Janie Hankins and husband Donald, Bobbie Jo Marigny and husband Paul, Jordan Hendrix; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m.-8:00p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Young's Daughters Funeral Home in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society.
