Anna Pearl Weathers,76, beloved daughter, sister, mother grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Temple, Texas on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born on October 11, 1947, in Temple to the late Edwin Cavness Weathers and Mrs. Billie Erva McPherson.
Anna's strong faith and unwavering belief in the power of God guided every aspect of her life. She cherished the scripture "For with God nothing shall be impossible" and was always ready with a verse to uplift and inspire others. As a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Temple, Anna found solace and strength in her spiritual community.
Anna was a graduate of Temple High School, Class of 1966. Throughout her life, she remained an advocate for education and believed in the transformative power of knowledge.
With a personality described as God-fearing, witty, stubborn yet loving, Anna approached life with unwavering determination. She had a compassionate heart and selflessly gave to others before tending to herself. Anna's phone was always within reach for anyone seeking comfort or guidance. When she made a call, she would make sure that you knew the Lord's presence and love.
In her leisure time, Anna pursued creative endeavors such as painting and sewing. She found joy in watching old 30s and 40s mystery movies and indulging in Alfred Hitchcock's captivating stories. But her greatest passion was working with children and leading personal Bible studies. Anna nurtured young minds with enthusiasm and dedicated herself to sharing the wisdom found within the scriptures.
Anna held her family close to her heart as her proudest accomplishment. She leaves behind cherished memories for her daughter: Sharon Stokes and husband Michael of Temple; three grandchildren Joseph Barnes II, Clayton Barnes, Megan Stokes; two great-grandchildren Julian Barnes and Angelo Barnes. Surviving her are also her sister, Mary Pippins, and husband Odis of Belton as well as six nieces and nephews.
While mourning Anna's departure from our lives, we find solace in the knowledge that she has been reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death. She is now embraced by her parents Edwin and Billie, two brothers Walker Weathers and Jerry Weathers, and her son Joseph Barnes. Anna lived with the assurance that upon passing, she would cross the Jordan River and ascend to heavenly bliss, reuniting with her beloved family members once more.
